Air purifiers

Air purifiers provide high-performance air filtration solutions to effectively purify the air and environment in contaminated spaces, removing up to 99.995% of airborne particles. This makes our air purifiers suitable for construction and industrial climate control, including use for buildings, commercial spaces, disinfection, pest control and water damage restoration. Discover our range of industrial air purifiers and speak to an expert today.

Why choose air purifiers?

High-efficiency commercial air purifiers are ideal for closed-in buildings and spaces where pollutants may be present, such as in office spaces, or where they are generated as part of working environments, such as construction sites. Ensuring that air is kept clean is crucial for employee and visitor safety, while helping them stay as comfortable, healthy and productive as possible.

Air purifying units make maintaining indoor air quality an effortless task. Without air purification technology, the stale air found in work environments could be abundant with viruses, bacteria, dust and allergens. When we spend a lot of time in one place, the quality of the air and the technology used to clean it plays a big role in reducing health hazards and increasing productivity.

Commercial air purifying units are proven to help eliminate airborne bacteria and viruses, and reduce the overall risk of contracting infections. Through a range of filtration technology, air pollution is removed. High-efficiency particulate absorbing (HEPA) filters are specially designed to remove up to 99.995% of airborne particles measuring 0.3 microns or more.

While there are some regulations in place that prohibit harmful substances from entering the air we breathe, there are still many harmful particles that could contribute to poor health. Take construction dust for example – it is classified as being harmful to health due to its quartz and hardwood dust content, and without effective air purifying units in place, the dust alone could cause a range of health issues.

Our air purification range includes air purifiers and direct dust extractors. Discover our range of industrial air purifiers and speak to an expert today.

Air purifiers: Frequently Asked Questions

What is an air purifier?

An air purifier cleans and purifies the air of viruses, bacteria, pollen, dust and other contaminants in a room or indoor space.

The most effective modern air purifiers utilise HEPA filters to capture and remove incredibly small particles from the air, minimising the presence of many types of airborne viruses and bacteria. Other models utilise technology such as UV (ultraviolet) lights or activated carbon filters to fulfil these tasks and improve indoor air quality.

How does an air purifier work?

Most air purifiers work by forcing air through incredibly fine filters, which capture and contain an overwhelming majority of harmful particles. Clean, fresh air is returned to the room, improving the atmosphere for all occupants.

In particular, HEPA filters can remove particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter, which makes these air purifiers effective against a vast number of germs.

For activated carbon air purifiers, this porous carbon material traps and removes impurities from the air as it passes through the filter. This is particularly effective at eliminating volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odours.

UV disinfection lamps with 365 nanometre UV wavelengths light can kill a large number of airborne bacteria.

Air purifiers that use ionisers apply strong electrical fields that charge individual air particles, which are more reactive and can destroy odour molecules and other pollutants.

What are the benefits of using an air purifier?

Air purifiers can significantly improve indoor air quality, removing allergens, dust, mould spores, odours and other pollutants. This has several benefits for people in these spaces, including:

  • Reduced aggravation of allergies, hay fever, asthma and other respiratory conditions

  • Improved comfort and wellbeing

  • Minimised spread of viruses and bacteria, helping reduce absenteeism

  • Creating cleaner, safer environments

  • Improved concentration

How often should I replace the filter in my air purifier?

The frequency at which the filter needs to be replaced will depend on the specific air purifier and the environment it operates in. Typically, we would recommend that filters should be replaced every 3-6 months.

Please consult your specific unit’s instruction manual for guidance on when to clean or replace the filters.

When and why would you use an air purifier?

Air purifiers are most often used in domestic or commercial environments. This could be at home, or in a wide range of workplace settings, including:

  • Offices

  • Schools

  • Gyms and leisure centres

  • Hospitals

  • Banks

For more heavy-duty or industrial environments, it is recommended that an air scrubber is utilised in place of an air purifier.

What pollutants do HEPA air purifiers remove?

HEPA air purifiers can remove particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter from the air. This makes these solutions effective against up to 99.97% of all airborne particles, including:

  • Dust

  • Bacteria

  • Mould

  • Pollen

  • Viruses

  • Pet dander

What are the best air cleaners for commercial use?

The right air purifier for your needs will depend on a range of factors, including the size of the space you need to purify and the number of people or animals in these spaces. Speak to our experts for advice on the ideal air cleaners for your commercial setting.

Can an air purifier remove smoke and dust?

The right air purifiers can remove smoke and dust. Not all models will be able to eliminate smoke and other gaseous pollutants. However, effective HEPA filtration can reduce and remove the amount of smoke in a room or building.

Can an air purifier help kill airborne viruses?

Yes. HEPA air purifiers are effective against the overwhelming majority of bacteria, viruses and other germs, including COVID-19.

Can I buy your air purifiers online?

For all of our air purifiers, VAT-registered companies can get a quote very quickly by pressing 'I want to buy' and inserting their enquiry and contact details.
